My first Haruki Murakami book and it is one of the best reads of the year for me. It is truly a tribute to Kafka. The storyline, references and style. The author must have done extensive research in myriad fields as each subject seems to flow flawlessly. For example, a reference to a piece of music heard by one of the characters in the book is told in such a way, that the reader feels like picking up that piece of music himself to listen and discover the nuances in the music. We are also given background information on the history of that composition.

It is a thriller, a roller coaster, information overload for some, but it is always intriguing.

Very satisfying read.
